                            China Import and Export Fair, known as Canton Fair, was founded on April 25, 1957. It is jointly sponsored by the Ministry of Commerce and the People's Government of Guangdong Province and undertaken by China Foreign Trade Center. It is a comprehensive international trade event with the longest history, the highest level, the largest scale, the most comprehensive commodity categories, the largest number of buyers, the widest distribution of countries and regions, and the best transaction effect, known as "the first exhibition in China".

                            The Canton Fair is flexible and diversified in terms of trade. In addition to the traditional sample trading, it also holds online trade fairs. The Canton Fair focuses on export trade as well as import business. It can also carry out various forms of economic and technical cooperation and exchanges, as well as commercial inspection, insurance, transportation, advertising, consulting and other business activities. The Canton Fair Pavilion is located on Pazhou Island, Guangzhou, with a total floor area of 1.1 million square meters, including 338,000 square meters of indoor exhibition halls and 43,600 square meters of outdoor exhibition halls. The fourth phase of the Canton Fair Pavilion project, the 132nd Canton Fair (i.e., the 2022 Autumn Fair) has been put into use. The exhibition area of the Canton Fair Pavilion after completion will reach 620,000 square meters, which will become the largest exhibition complex in the world. Among them, the indoor exhibition area is 504,000 square meters, and the outdoor exhibition area is 116,000 square meters.

                           After 61 years of reform, innovation and development, the Canton Fair has withstood various severe tests and never stopped. It has strengthened trade exchanges between China and the world, showcased China's image and development achievements, and is a high-quality platform for Chinese enterprises to explore the international market and a guiding and demonstration base for implementing China's foreign trade development strategy. It has become the first promotion platform for China's foreign trade, the barometer and weather vane of China's foreign trade, and the window, miniature and symbol of China's opening up. Since the 101st session in April 2007, the Canton Fair has changed its name from China Export Commodities Fair to China Import and Export Commodities Fair, changing from a single export platform to a two-way import and export trading platform.
